Excellent dp, at a good price point : Yamaha P155 Contemporary Piano with Mahogany Top Board, Black
OK, this is our first DP, so we are not experts... Having said that, I tested the hammer action and compared to real acoustic pianos and find the P-155 is quite realistic, even on the heavy side (which I think is good, gives you good strength if you ever decide do go up to a real grand piano!). The sounds it produces are very good (at least the "piano 1", we only goofed with the others---but the others sound good too, the "chorus" sounds really nice playing Beethoven's 9th!). The "piano 1" sound is composed of 4 different samples (for the different sound levels) so it sounds very realistic at all levels of play, from pp to ff. We also like that you can wear headphones and not bother the family if you want to play late at night. Finally, the USB storage allows MIDI files to be recorded and/or brought from a computer to serve as a second pair of hands. The user interface is clean and relatively simple to use.
Overall I am very pleased and I do not think you can get this good quality at a lower price point.
BTW: this piano is made in Japan, always a good sign in terms of quality.

If Your Mixes Sound Good on These, They Sound Good on Anything. The new HS Series powered monitors were designed to be true studio reference monitors in the tradition of the famous NS10Ms. When choosing your next pair of near field reference monitors, remember it's not just important that they sound good; they have to be an honest reference for your mix. The new HS Series of reference monitors were designed to give you exceptionally flat response so you can really trust what you hear. That means that mixes that sound good on Yamaha HS speakers will sound good on anything. In fact, that's the ultimate test of a reference monitor. Even better than that, HS series speakers not only sound good, they look great, too. The HS Series is a two-way, internally powered speaker system designed to provide affordable, high quality reference monitoring for all types of recording and multimedia applications – home studios, computer-based music production, gaming systems, keyboards rigs and personal computer systems. All products are sold and packaged individually, making it easy to build flexible monitor setups and 5.1 systems. HS Series cabinets look as great as they sound. Enclosures are constructed of high-quality MDF material and a multiple layer finish that minimizes resonance. Design elements include a black finish and lighted Yamaha tuning fork logo. Outstanding near field monitor, at any price... : Yamaha HS50M 5" Monitor Speaker
Yamaha hs50m is nothing like any other monitors. I considered them ALL before finally making my choice, and by ALL i mean ALL. Thing is, i didnt want to overkill my home studio and i didnt have thousands of dollars to drain for fancy brand name monitors... Turns out, you can get a fancy brand name monitors without draining your money. And here they are, Yamaha HS50m!
They are no just some m-audio or samson or whatever else crap outthere. They are like a good friend who is straightforward telling you truth all the time. All your mistakes in a mix sound so obvious on Yamahas that you can't miss them, unless you are deaf... If you make your mix sound good on these... NO its not gonna sound good e erywhere, thats lies. Its not gonna sound good on a cracked speaker, on a broken PA or a... You got the point. But it will sound neat and professional on any sound system, ipod, car stereo... And they are surprisingly cheap. And you can get them even cheaper if you research internet and put some time in it! Overal, amazing monitors! P.s. The comments regarding lack of low frequencies are total BS. For those who dont know the low freq limit in their rap/hiphop whatever, just get those bassy KRK. These Yamahas are for real mixing mastering situations.

Customer Review :
Flute Swab : Yamaha Flute Swab
I bought this for my Hutchen's flute and this does a very bad job of cleaning the flute. All the moisture naturally gets redistributed throughout the distance of the flute! The material on this flute cleaner is Not At All absorbent. I incredible it to suck up the moisture immediately on contact, since that would be the only good way to clean a flute. I'm a flute newbie and this is disappointing. I have read on other reviews that it's best to use a cleaning rod with a cleaning cloth, so I will buy those and see how that works out.
